I am getting a KitchenAid stand mixer for my birthday, but I am on a strict diet (getting married in Feb.) and can’t really eat breads and cookies and cakes and that kind of thing. What else will I be able to use my stand mixer for?
My wife wants to make whole wheat bread every morning and she loves to bake and make things from scratch to avoid preservatives. She also likes making low fat/low sugar cakes and such. I want to get her something nice and of good quality that will last. Is this a good blender for the job or is there something better in the 0-0 price range? Is this something that will last? I wanted to get her a bread maker but she doesn’t want that for some reason. Thanks for any advice.
I just got a new kitchenaid mixer for christmas and have yet to use it. I am dying to make something but I dont know what to make. No cookies bc I am cookied out from the holidays. Any suggestions? Cakes? Muffins? Breads (that don’t require a bread machine)?
If you have any recipes that would be helpful too. I only have meal cookbooks at home, nothing really w/ desserts
My cakes NEVER come out, my cookies aren’t that great either. Texture, flavor is never right. I usually cream butter and sugar in a Cusinart (like tiny food processer) & do the rest by hand (but I am careful not to overmix).
I don’t really want to spend hundreds on a mixer because I only bake a few times a year (but I love to bake) and no one else in my house will use it.
So could that be the reason why everything doesn’t taste as good as when someone else (bakery) does it?
thx everyone i like the idea of doing it by hand also more counter space for me. i’ll try again! chocolate cake this time.
I used to own a Kitchen Aid, and was always very happy with it. I am looking to get a new stand mixer and I am considering the Kitchen Aid once again or the Sunbeam Heritage series mixer. Does anyone have any information on the Sunbeam? I am very uncertain. I love to bake, cakes, cookies, pies, breads, etc… but I do it for my family and friends not for professional uses. Any suggestions?
I am making one for this weekend…. but I want it to look realistic looking. My question is… do you mix the cake mixes (german and white) and bake them together? Or do you bake them seperately and then just mix them together after they are crumbled? Last time I did them seperately, and it did not look as realistic. I was going to try it together this time, but I dont want it to look even worse and I dont want a total of 4 cakes sitting around. Secondly, any tips at getting even coloring on the cookie crumbs? ( and do you take the filling out first before putting them in the food processor)
