which is the best electric shaver/grooming kit in the market?

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

One which offers as close shave as possible almost or just like razers, but obviously witout the burns and ingrown hair associated with traditional razers. I want a complete grooming kit i.e. which contains trimmer, brush, comb,nose/ear trimmer etc… there are a variety in the market, but the best ones are just single shaver not with whole grooming kit and some are self cleaning too and lubricating although that’s not that important. I know of phillips grooming kit 6in 1.. any other brand?? does panasonic or braun have complete grooming kit??

He already has a Braun shaver, he only uses it for light days. Are there any for bad days that he has not shaved for 3 days or so? It will be a birthday present. thanks.

How can I replace a quartz movement on an old alarm clock?

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

I have several Braun alarm clocks made in the 70’s and 80’s that are slowly all dieing. I clean them, but the movement really needs to be replaced. Braun doesn’t make or support them any longer.
Some of the clock are "step" quartz and others are "silent" moving. Only the silent ones are problematic.

how many corded only electric shavers are still being made in the world? how come electric shavers are no?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

longer being made for the most part in corded only mode? why has everything become cord/cordless? are there any websites that deal exclusively with corded only electric shavers? why is it that braun, norelco, and remington no longer have that many corded only shavers? what other lesser known brands are still making corded only foil shavers in the world? what will be the future of corded only shavers for the distant future? can someone please share their thoughts on this subject. rsvp as soon as possible. thanks.

Please recommend a non-dedicated, thyristor-type, electronic flash-gun [used is OK] with these features…?

Wednesday, January 26th, 2011

I’m shopping for a used, old-school, non-dedicated, thyristor-type electronic flash (to use on a Panasonic G1 and maybe some other cameras) — I’m looking for all of these features:

1) GUIDE NUMBER:
Around 30m (ISO 100) or better [need enough power to bounce flash off ceilings/walls]

2) FULLY ADJUSTABLE HEAD:
- Tilt (from forward-horizontal to vertical-upwards) and
- Swivel (at least 90 degrees left and right, preferably 180 left and right)

3) MANUAL-MODE with ADJUSTABLE POWER OUTPUT:
Full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8. 1/16 etc. [via a slider or dial on the flash body]

4) MULTIPLE AUTO-EXPOSURE MODES:
Should have an Onboard Light Sensor, coupled to two or more Auto-Aperature Modes [automation managed entirely by the flash with the camera operated manually at matching aperature]

5) DON’T REQUIRE TTL-CAPABILITY:
Prefer a NON-DEDICATED model, without TTL-capability — but it’s OK if the flash offers TTL, as long it offers the rest of what I’m looking for

6) DUAL CONNECTIVITY:
Prefer to have both a hot shoe and a terminal/jack for a PC-cord (for off camera operation via a cord), although this is negotiable

7) FLASH TRIGGER VOLTAGE:
Less than around 24 volts, although this may also be negotiable by adding a voltage-dropping interface

SOME LIKELY BRANDS?
Braun, Canon, Metz, Minolta, Nikon, Nissan, Pentax, Promaster, Quantaray, Starblitz, Sunpak Vivitar, etc

I think a lot of these were made in the 70’s and 80’s, but there may still be some new ones made like this?

Thanks for your suggestions, the more the merrier

Flyer has Misprint. Will store honour it?

Monday, January 24th, 2011

My local paper has a picture of the Braun series 7 but underneath it say’s series 3 which is almost 0 cheaper. So, can I get the series 7 for the advertised price. In other words, It has the wrong picture with the wrong description and price. Will the store have to honour it?
